About this coffee

Renowned as one of the world’s rarest and most celebrated coffees, Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee is cultivated high in the mist covered peaks of eastern Jamaica. This exceptional Grade 1 lot comes from the historic Clydesdale Estate, one of the very first estates to plant coffee in the Blue Mountains in the late 1700s. For centuries, this remarkable region has been admired for producing coffee of incomparable quality.

Grown at elevations of 3500 to 4000 feet, the estate benefits from a unique microclimate that is warm during the day and cooler at night. Combined with rich loam and volcanic soil, along with surrounding vegetation of palm, plantain, guava, and banana trees, the result is a beautifully balanced and refined cup.

The coffee predominantly grown here is Arabica Typica, a true classic in the world of speciality coffee. Carefully fully washed to preserve clarity and character, this Grade 1 Clydesdale selection features large screen size 17 and 18 beans with an ideal moisture content of 10 to 12 percent. Every detail reflects meticulous care and uncompromising quality. It has an SCA score of 86.00.

In the cup, Typica offers an elegant and harmonious flavour profile centred around gentle hazelnut and cocoa notes. Bitterness is remarkably low, allowing a smooth, naturally sweet character to shine through. The acidity sits at low to medium, giving structure without overpowering the palate. With a cup score of 86, classed as Excellent, this coffee delivers both sophistication for the connoisseur and effortless enjoyment for everyday drinking.

Today, coffee from the Clydesdale region is cultivated by dedicated independent small holding farmers who collectively process their beans under the Clydesdale name. The coffee is prepared at the Blue Mountain Coffee Factory in Kingston to ensure maximum quality before being supplied to authorised Jamaica Blue Mountain distributors worldwide.

This is 100 percent genuine Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee from the Clydesdale Estate. A true single origin coffee with no blends, offering the full, authentic expression of one of the most prestigious coffee growing regions in the world. An outstanding choice for those who appreciate heritage, craftsmanship, and exceptional quality in every cup.

To preserve its freshness and aroma, each batch is small-batch roasted in Norfolk, United Kingdom, ensuring every cup captures the unmistakable character of Jamaica’s legendary Blue Mountains.

Coffee Formats Explained

We offer our coffee in a range of formats to suit your brewing method.

  • Whole Bean: Our top recommendation, giving you the freshest cup when ground at home.
  • Cafetiere: A coarse grind, perfect for Cafetiere / French Press brewing
  • Filter: A medium to fine grind, ideal for filter / V60 / Chemex methods.
  • Aeropress: We would class this as a fine+ grind. Ideal for smooth extraction
  • Espresso: an extra fine grind. Ideal for espresso machines requiring ground coffee, Moka Pot or Stove Top brewing.
How much do i need?

Most people use around 15 to 18 grams of coffee per cup depending on the brew method. On average if you drink two cups a day you will go through about 250 grams in a week.

It is always worth ordering a little extra so you never run out!

Coffee Freshness

Most of our coffee is dispatched on the same day as roasting, ensuring it reaches you at peak freshness and each bag is clearly marked with a Roasted On date.

To allow flavours to develop and excess CO₂ to dissipated after roasting, we recommend allowing our freshly roasted coffee rest for at least 72 hours before drinking. Don't worry though, it will still taste great if you can't wait that long!

Our packaging contains a one-way degassing valve to both allow the degassing process to continue and keep unwanted air out.

Although our coffee can be stored for up to 1 year, we recommend enjoying within 1 month for maximum flavour. For best results, store your coffee in a high-quality airtight container.
